What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a surgery typically performed to help those unsatisfied with the look of their nose. Procedure
Rhinoplasty usually takes under 3 hours to complete in an outpatient setting using general anesthesia. During surgery, the incisions are either made inside or between the nostrils. Bone and cartilage are either added or removed, depending on the goals of the surgery. If the patient has a deviated septum, it is straightened during surgery. The procedure is completed after the incisions are sutured closed.
Recovery
Swelling, bruising, minor bleeding, and pain should be expected during the beginning of recovery. You will have the feeling of a stuffy nose for several weeks following surgery and will need to breathe through your mouth.
