More Americans Choose Cosmetic Procedures in 2014: ASPS Report
Technological advancement and innovation in the field of cosmetic surgery and non-surgical procedures have led to a wider acceptance and popularity of these procedures. Both women and men are increasingly opting for such treatments in order to fulfill their inherent aesthetic needs and goals.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has recently published a report that reveals the growth trends across various categories of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Bram Kaufman provides these procedures to patients in Pepper Pike, Cleveland, OH, and surrounding communities.
Surgical Procedures
Breast Augmentation
Ever since the FDA approved silicone implants for breast augmentation cosmetic surgery, it has remained one of the most popular procedures for American women. In 2014, the number of breast augmentation surgeries stood at 286,254, registering an increase of 35% from 2000.
Breast Implant Removal
In 2014, only 23,774 breast implant removal surgeries were carried out, representing a decline of 42% since 2000. The decline indicates a superior rate of success in breast augmentation surgeries over the years.
