Dermal Fillers

Anti-aging Dermal Fillers

With aging, our faces tend to lose volume as a result of tissue atrophy (thinning of the tissues). This can lead to some of the typical appearances we see as we get older including thin lips, shallow cheeks, creases and wrinkles. Many of these unwanted appearances can be corrected without surgery by using dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Juvéderm® and Radiesse®. The great advantage of these treatments is that they provide immediate improvement, they are very safe and less costly compared to surgery, and they can correct a number of issues with a very natural appearance. Re-treatment is essential to maintain the results.  Although minimally invasive (the medication is injected with a very small needle) there are risks,  most commonly  bruising and/or discomfort at the injection site. Fortunately, adverse and side effects are rare and usually resolve within a few days.

Sometimes dermal fillers can be used in conjunction with Botox® for excellent results. I can  assess your needs at the time of a consultation and recommend one or a combination of treatments to achieve your desired results.

Dermal fillers are not usually covered by insurance. More information about the financial arrangements for cosmetic surgery can be found on the Consultation Page.
